Meet Sarah

Sarah was a happy, perfectly healthy woman in her early 20s. She had recently graduated college and was about to start working. This all changed in 2015 when she began experiencing extreme GI issues, brain fog, fatigue, and an overall feeling of unwellness. As time passed, her GI issues worsened, causing her to become incredibly ill. Sarah couldn’t hold onto nutrients, lost a lot of weight, and was in and out of the emergency room due to extreme pain. “There were days when I didn't even want to leave or get off the couch. I remember crying multiple times per day,” Sarah stated as she reflected on her mold experience.

After being told by a conventional doctor that nothing was wrong, she began researching mold toxicity. After 4 years of constant illness, Sarah finally received some closure. She was diagnosed with mold toxicity and immediately began her mold recovery journey.

In 2020, Sarah moved to a new apartment. She tested her new apartment with an ERMI test, which came back mold-free! Everything was going well for Sarah. She had moved out of her parent’s house, started a new job, and felt healthy!

That was until 2022 when her extreme GI issues returned, sending her back to the emergency room. After an MRI, CT scan, and laparoscopy, she was told nothing was wrong. Sarah knew this couldn’t be true, so she took another ERMI test of her apartment. Although mold-free two years earlier, the results came back positive for mold this time.

Through all this, Sarah had roughly $150,000 in hospital bills sent to her insurance agency, which potentially would have been an out-of-pocket payment if she didn't have insurance or was under a different plan. She also paid $7,000 out of pocket in hospital bills. On top of her hospital bills, Sarah has spent roughly $26,000 and counting on mold detoxification, which she emphasizes was relative to her experience and is not necessary for everyone. Luckily for Sarah, she rented her apartment and was able to avoid thousands of dollars worth of remediation.        Nowadays, Sarah detoxifies daily, and plans to do so for the rest of her life. She still experiences symptoms of mold toxicity, but her progress has been incredible. We wish Sarah the best of health as she continues her mold recovery journey!
